本体横には指紋認証機能も備えているのですがこれが非常に評価が高く、かなり高速に解除出来るようです。

ソフトウェアはほとんど AOSP で、セキュリティパッチのアップデートもしっかりと行っているようです。
また、カスタム ROM である CyanogenMod 等のインストールを行っても保証が切れることは無いようなので ROM 焼きが好きなユーザーには夢の様な端末かも。

Galaxy S7のカメラを使ってみた

Galaxy S7 のある意味目玉といえるカメラをテストしてみました。

今回テストに利用したモデルは SONY センサーでした。

神田明神で数枚撮影してみました。

細かい模様まではっきり写っています。

わかる人にはわかる階段。

赤色などは実際よりも濃く表現されている気がします、綺麗ではありますがクセのあるカメラという印象。

馬が居たのでパシャリ

しかしこの馬、寝てばかりで歩いてるところは撮れませんでした。

ローストビーフ大野でも撮影、飯テロカメラとしてもかなり優秀です。

この肉の質感が伝わるでしょうか！

色鮮やかに撮影できるのでピザのようなカラフルな物を撮影すると楽しいです。

メイドカフェぴなふぉあ1号店というメイド喫茶でメイドさんに作ってもらったのでパシャリ。ニャースです。
メイドさんは撮影禁止でした、残念。

カメラはオートでかなり綺麗に取ることが可能で自分で設定すればより美しく思い出を残せるいい機種だと感じます。カメラの起動も早いのでシャッターチャンスを逃しません。

暗めの場所で写真を撮る機会があればまた記事にしようかと思います。

SamsungのGear VRを開封レビュー

Galaxy S7の予約特典として付いてきたGear VRを開封レビューしていきます。

基本スペック

Gear VRのパッケージ、対応デバイスはGalaxy Note5, S6 edge+, S6/ S6 edgeとなっていますがGalaxy S7シリーズでも問題無く利用出来ます。

中身はGear VR本体と固定用バンド、取扱説明書のみでした。

Gear VRはスマートフォンを差し込んで使うだけなので大して大きくないだろうと思っていましたが予想に反して大きくそこそこ重量もあります。

SAMSUNGのロゴが入っている部分がはずれ、ここにGalaxyを差し込んでVRを楽しむ事ができるというわけです。

内側は顔に当たる部分にクッションが付いています。マジックテープで付いているので汚れてしまったら交換、ということも可能です。

本体下部にはMicroUSB端子もあるので充電しながらの利用も可能のようです。

Gear VRでスクリーンショットが取れたので3枚ほどアップします。

いかがでしょうか。スクリーンショットだと粗さが目立ちますが、実際にGear VRを付けてみるとまるで目の前でキャラクターが踊っているかのような錯覚に陥るほど没入感があります。

ただし、現状だとGear VRは対応アプリも多くなく、Oculus Riftなどと比較してしまうと出来ることが少ないです。しかし、初めてのVR体験機としてはかなり優秀な一台なので対応デバイスを持っている方は購入を検討してもいいかもしれませんね。

本当に4日持つかも！？Gear S2の電池持ちが「凄い」

SAMSUNGが国内でも販売しているGear S2を購入したのですが、その驚異的な電池持ちに驚かされました。

こちらが2.5日経過時のバッテリー、この時点で半分以上バッテリーが残っているので単純計算で5日程持つ事になります。

これがちょうど3日目のバッテリー残量。
SAMSUNGは公式に「最大4日」の電池持ちを謳っていますが、あながち嘘ではないのかもしれません。もちろん使い方にもよりますが時間と通知の確認、定期的に心拍数の計測やニュースブリーフィングを利用してこのくらいのペースでバッテリーが減って行きました。
睡眠時間などシャットダウンしておけば1週間くらい持ちそうですね。
高機能スマートウォッチで電池持ちのいい物を探している方、Gear S2の購入を検討してみてはいかがでしょうか？

最初から言っていることの繰り返しになりますが、やはり軽いです。鞄に入れて持ち歩くのも全く苦になりません。

以前の製品では、残量表示LEDが明るすぎるために、飛行機で他の乗客の睡眠を妨げてしまう可能性があったため、使用できませんでした。今回の製品では、屋外であっても表示が確認できる程度の明るさは確保されていますが、ある程度抑えられているため、飛行機や夜行バスでも明るすぎて周囲に迷惑を掛けるといったことは起こらないでしょう。

❌外装がアルミなので冷たい

触った時に冷たく感じます。夏場は良いかもしれませんが、冬場は厳しいです。

❌円筒形なので安定感がない

垂直に立てて置くと倒れやすく、寝かせておくとコロコロと転がるので、いまいち安定感がありません。

✅総評

欠点に関しては捻り出したようなところもあり、総合的には非常に満足しています。見た目も高級感があり、どんな場面でも使える製品だと思います。モバイルバッテリーはつい欲張りになって大容量のものを買いがちですが、1回分の充電さえ確保できればいいと言う方はこちらを検討してみてはいかがでしょうか？
