People tend to reset their android devices or many different reasons like password, pattern lock, software malfunction etc. When the device is password/pin or pattern lock and we have forgotten it, we quickly boot the device into recovery menu then factory reset it from there. The recovery menu has always been a life saver for many android devices but not for Sony Xperia devices.
You just can’t boot Sony Xperia devices into recovery mode with button combo. So the question here is how are you supposed to reset this device to remove password/pin or pattern lock if there is no recovery option?
You can use fastboot option. Putting the device into fastboot and typing the following command
fastboot erase userdata
will work on most old devices and not on new ones. So, what if using the fastboot command don’t work on your Xperia device?
Well if the fastboot command do not work on your device don’t sweat it, flashing a tiny ftf file which erases only userdata will solve this problem.
