The Honor 5X was launched back in October 2015 and has seen a number of Android updates ever since. However now, the device is being upgraded to the latest AOSP source with Android version 6.0.1. Huawei devices are known for its unique EMUI OS and now it has been updated to EMUI 4.0 for the Honor 5X.

Your phone Must already running one of the following firmware builds onboard:- KIW-L21C185B140
- KIW-L21C185B301
Important: Backup important files stored on your device before proceeding with the steps below, so that in case something goes wrong you’ll have backup of all your important files.
How to Update Huawei Honor 5X to Official Marshmallow 6.0.1 Build B310 EMUI 4.0
- Download Huawei Honor 5X ( KIW-L21 ) Official Marshmallow 6.0.1 Build B310 EMUI 4.0 and extract the zip package on your computer.
- Transfer the dload folder to the external microSD card of your device.
- Take a full backup of existing data stored on phone.
- Turn your device off.
- Now reboot while holding Vol down + Vol up + Power for a few seconds to initiate the upgrade process.
That’s it! Your Huawei Honor 5X should now have Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow B310 Firmware on your phone! Go to Settings > About phone to verify.
